Rare Antique Cast Iron Bird Bath Planter Urn with Ruffled Edge

For sale is a rare antique cast iron bird bath with ruffled edge. It could be used as a planter but a drain hole would need to be added or would have to be on a covered porch.

It stands a lovely 29 1/2" tall , is 16 1/6" across the ruffled edging, and is 53.5 lbs according to my house scale. It is in overall mint antique condition (no additional new paint). There is a small drilled hole on the ruffled edge.

I have no idea how this was utilized. On the underside of the base you can see some additional weld or substance that looks to have been added. It is solid and does not move or wiggle on its frame.

I have seen planters with this lovely edging, but never before the ruffled edge birdbath. I could get it to UPS.
